Health expert Dr. Anne Agbaje discussed on some useful hints on Sleep and Diabetes. The hints are listed below:
IMPORTANCE OF SLEEP
1. Increase waste: there is increase in the production of waste product during resting state.
2. Clearance of the brain: The brain increase by 60% during sleep which help to promote clearance of the interstitial wastes such as Anyloid beta. Sleep is important for the development of the brain.
3. Restoration: Sleep helps to increase wound healing.
She also discussed on things that affect sleep and the triggers of sleep, which is listed as follows:
Things that affects Sleep
- Noisy environment
- Hypertension
- Taking heavy food very late in the night.
- Watching of stimulating movie late in the night.
- Taking of coffee.
Triggers of sleep
- Taking of cold cup of milk
- Taking of your bath in the night.
- When its time to sleep make your room dark: the darker it is the better you sleep
- Make your bed comfortable
- Keep noise down
- Avoid alcohol before bed
- Stay away from big meal at night
- Cut down on caffeine and quit smoking
- Make your room cool
She also discussed on Diabetes: group of metabolic disease in which there are high blood sugar levels over a prolonged period. She said '' its common among adults from the age of 40 upward". She later mentioned some of the symptoms and preventions.

- Frequent urination
- Increased thirst
- Increased hunger
- Weight gain
- Unusual weight loss
- Fatigue
- Cuts and bruises that do not heal.
PREVENTION
- Don't eat too much sugar
- Eat more fish
- Eating of carrots
- Using of Olive oil for cooking
- Consumption of Legumes e.g peanuts & soybeans.
