9 Difference Between Leadership And Management

The difference between leaders and managers can be expressed in the saying ''There are four types of people in this world:
  • Those who watch things happen,
  • Those who let things happen,
  • Those who ask what just happen, and
  • Those who make things happen.''
Leaders are those who make things happen, while managers are in the other group.
Most leaders were managers on their way to leadership. Its often natural path of progression. However not all managers became leaders.
  • A manager is responsible for someone else's vision and resources. A leader has His own vision.
Below are the difference between the leader and manager.

1. The manager administer; the leader innovates.
2. The manager is a copy; the leader is an original.
3. The manager maintains; the leader develop.
4. The manager relies on control; the leader inspires trust.
5. The manager has a short range view; the leader has a long range view.
6. The manager ask how and when; the leader ask what and why.
7. The manager initiates; the leader originates.
8. The manager accepts the status quo; the leader challenges it.
9. The manager does things right, the leader does the right things.

I think those who want to become a leader it take notes of this points.
